Ruvo di Puglia guided tour
Ruvo di Puglia is a small town that played an important role during the Roman imperial period, becoming a Municipium: it’s possible to find traces of it in some inscriptions and in antique Roman cistern ruins.
Ruvo preserves in its old town an amazing Romanesque Cathedral of great artistic refinement, a refinement that’s also visible on the original gate.
Lastly, the Jatta Archeological Museum deserves a stop: this museum carefully treasures a collection of artifacts and pottery dating back to Peucetians and Greeks, a time earlier than the Roman presence.
