Visit Otranto, one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, in Salento, with a local tour guide who will accompany you on a pleasant walk through the flowering streets of the village and visit its monuments: the castle, the ancient mosaic in the Cathedral and the many palaces.
WHAT WILL YOU DO DURING THE TOUR?
You will meet the guide at the Castle of Otranto and you'll begin the visit of one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, overlooking the sea. Otranto is located at the easternmost point of the heel of Italy, which is why it has always been considered the gateway to Italy for the populations of the east. It is certainly one of the most important centers from the historical and cultural point of view of Salento, thanks to the presence of ancient churches and palaces, of the Aragonese castle built at the end of the fifteenth century, of the towers and walls that protected the city. During the guided tour you will discover its characteristic historical center, meeting, from time to time, glimpses of landscapes in which the village meets the famous crystalline sea. You will have the opportunity to enter the Cathedral of the Annunciation which houses one of the most beautiful mosaics in southern Italy, built in the second half of the 1100s and which represents the tree of life.
