HOW IS THE TOUR ORGANIZED?
In Bari where you will meet the driver and set off to discover two important religious destinations. The tour includes a guided tour of Monte Sant'Angelo, added in 2011 to the UNESCO World Heritage list. Walking through the streets of the historic center with the tourist guide you will discover the origins of the place dating back to the 6th century AD, when the sanctuary was built following the appearance of San Michele.
You will visit the rupestrian sanctuary, one of the most visited religious destinations and stroll through the medieval quarter called "Junno quarter".
Monte Sant'angelo is located at the highest point of the Gargano park and from here you can admire the incredible landscape from the park to the blue sea.
Then you will leave for San Giovanni Rotondo, where you will discover the places where the friar lived and the story of his life with a tour guide. You will visit the ancient Church, the remains of the saint, the convent, the private room of San Pio and the new sanctuary, designed by the architect Renzo Piano and almost entirely realized by pilgrims' offers. At the end of the tour you will return to Bari.
