Slow food itinerary in the Imperial Puglia

Ideal tour for groups of friends or associations. Designed for food and wine, agricultural tradition and slow tourism lovers.

The protagonists of this experiential journey will be the extra virgin olive oil, the burrata and the other dairy products, baked goods, wines and spices from the Murgia, all in the enchanting landscape of the lands of Federico II, Castel del Monte and its cities.
 
DAY 1: TRANI, ANDRIA
 
Arrival by private bus / train / plane with local bus service.
 
First stop guided tour of the city of Trani and followed by tasting of the "Moscato di trani" wine with local cheeses and desserts.
At the end of the visit, transfer to Andria, visit to an oil mill where the Coratina olive oil EVO is produced, of which Andria is one of the main producers, followed by a visit to the Museum of Confetto, of the Mucci family with tasting of "Tenerello" with Toritto almond (Slow Food presidium)
At the end, transfer to a 4-star hotel. Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay. (4 nights)
 
 
DAY 2: CASTEL DEL MONTE, MINERVINO MURGE
 
Breakfast and departure for Castel del Monte, with a guided tour of the octagonal Castle, the imperial symbol of Frederick II which dominates the Alta Murgia Park. Afterwards, visit of a real farm where sheep's cheese is still produced with tasting of dairy products of own production.
Afterwards Transfer to Minervino Murge, visit of the village and meeting with the artisan Vincenzo, master basket maker inside his workshop, which still produces baskets with asphodel leaves as in the past.
 
Convivial dinner on the farm to savor the delicacies of the area. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
 
 
 
DAY 3: BISCEGLIE, BARLETTA
 
Breakfast and departure Bisceglie. Opportunity to live a truly unique experience with a trip in historic fishing boats called "gozzi" together with the fishermen, alternatively visit the Ancient Village with the splendid cathedral, the historic buildings and the port.
Itinerant lunch tasting local products and the typical local dessert the "Sospiro" a real delicacy (Slow Food Presidium).
In the afternoon transfer to Barletta, with a guided tour of the Castle, the Cathedral and the famous Cantina della Disfida. Return to the hotel and dinner
 
DAY 4: GRAVINA IN PUGLIA, ALTAMURA
 
Breakfast and transfer to Gravina in Puglia, for the guided tour of the "Gravina sotterranea" and of the Rock Churches.
Tasting at a dairy that produces the "Pallone di Gravina", Slow Food Presidium. Transfer to Altamura, guided tour of the historic center with the Cathedral and the women's galleries. Stop at an ancient oven, where the Altamura DOP Bread is produced. Dinner in a farmhouse restaurant.
Return to the hotel and overnight stay.
 
DAY 5: BARI
 
Breakfast, check-out and transfer to Bari, guided tour of the city before departure, airport / station transfer if required. End of services
