Why were the Trulli made?

The trullo was born as a humble and emergency home for the farmers, who did not own a house, made one with the stones made redundant after having cleared the land.
The farmers, skilled craftsmen, were able in a short time to build a roof for their family, using a particular construction technique that, just looking closely, you can understand.
The pinnacles are placed on the cones of the trulli, made freehand and using lime, and represent specific symbols (ornamental, magical, pagan, Christian, primitive), each with a particular function: protect the family, fight the evil eye or pray to some deities in order to obtain a good harvest.
