1st day BAT AREA

2nd day LUCERA / TROIA

Morning: visit of the city of Lucera, defined as the "city of a thousand readings" and full of signs of a glorious past visible from the constructive testimonies of the various settlements. We will visit the remains of the Federiciano Castle and the city walls, the Cathedral and the Roman amphitheater. Afternoon: visit of Troy, in the past important crossroads of the road axis via Appia-Traiana. Pretty village overlooking the Daunas hills, which preserves a splendid Cathedral among the most beautiful in Puglia.

3rd day SIPONTO - Abbey of San Leonardo / MANFREDONIA

Morning: visit to the remains of the ancient Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Siponto, an archaeological site now reborn thanks to the construction of a young architect, Edoardo Tresoldi. Afterwards, visit of another authentic jewel of art, the Abbey of San Lorenzo, among the first examples of Pugliese Romanesque with Pisan influences. Afternoon: stop in Manfredonia to visit the Castle and stroll in the quaint old town.

4th day BATTLE RODS / Museum of oil / CANOSA

In the morning visit the archaeological area of Canne, an ancient medieval town whose name recalls the site where the famous battle between Carthaginians and Romans took place.To go to visit an oil museum and an ancient oil mill.To follow, visit of the city of Canosa, defined a real museum in sight with important remains of various eras, from the Roman to the dauna up to Norman-Swabian evidence.

5th day RUVO / Bottega della ceramica / BITONTO

Morning: check out. Visit of Ruvo di Puglia, ancient Roman Municipium, to admire the Cathedral and the Jatta Museum that collects ceramics dating back to the VII-III century. B.C. Stop in a pottery workshop to learn ancient techniques of "know how". Afternoon: visit the beautiful Cathedral of Bitonto, considered the archetype of the wonderful churches in Puglia, which preserves priceless works such as the ambo and the mosaics of the ancient early Christian church. Transfer and check-in at a hotel in the Savelletri area.


Morning: visit of the archaeological park of Egnazia, ancient city of Puglia and center of the Messapi. Afternoon: visit of Polignano, birthplace of Domenico Modugno. Possibility of boat ride.

7th day TARANTO

In the morning visit to the city of Taranto, an ancient Magno-Greek colony, today known for the presence of the MARTA Archaeological Museum with Greek, Roman and Apulian collections. End of services.
